Originally we ordered Lacewood because its unusual figure made it an obvious choice for electric guitar tops, but after handling the wood it occurred to us that it might make a fine-sounding acoustic guitar back and side material which it has proven to be.
The Lacewood we carry is from South America. It is a dense wood with a loud, sustaining tap tone. Our Lacewood features a warm cinnamon brown color and has outstanding, bold cris-crossing figure. It finishes nicely, but can be a little tricky to bend (like most figured woods).
