It tends to be brittle, but what it lacks in workability it more than makes up for in tonality. It is used by James Goodall Guitars and Breedlove Guitars for some of their finest models. It has also been used by a number of discriminating classical and steel string builders such as Mark Blanchard, Michael

We will bend your sides to the 1966 Ramirez shape (plan SKU PL28, template SKU SPT1). This is very close to both the '37 Hauser shape (plan SKU PL64, template SKU SPT14) and the '43/'48 Hauser shape (plan SKU PL40, template SKU SPT2)(they are both slightly smaller but very close) so this bending customization should work for all three.
If you have opted to have your sides bent, do not choose any side options here, choose only back customizations. If you are having your sides bent, we recommend: Join back only and sand to .095".

Backstrips are joined into the back, not routed.
If you have elected to have us join your back, you may also wish to have us profile it. We will profile your back to the shape you choose leaving approximately 1/4 inch of extra material beyond the outline. This excess material can be removed later, once your box is complete, using a router with a flush trim bit or by other appropriate means. These options are filtered to work with the back and side set you are purchasing.
