Check/dump valve for vacuum system
The Check/Dump Valve allows you to quickly release the vacuum from the fixture you are using, but it also prevents vacuum loss for a very short while should you lose power or have a pump failure, preventing a sudden loss of vacuum in a critical situation.
LMI’s check/dump valve is created to give the user of our vacuum pump a few seconds before vacuum to a fixture is lost due to a power outage or pump failure. Using the check/dump valve gives the operator approximately 12 seconds before vacuum is lost to remove the item being worked on.
The check/dump valve should be installed in the line that leaves the vacuum pump and travels to the vacuum fixture. Simply cut the hose between the vacuum pump and the fixture and insert the valve in this break attaching the hose to the hose barbs on either end of the valve. The ball valve at the top of the check/dump valve is used to immediately release vacuum to the fixture.
Be sure to test your check/dump valve to make sure you have installed it in the correct direction (there are arrows indicating the direction of airflow) before relying on it to save your work should vacuum fail.
The brass barbed hose fitting is a straight adapter for 1/4" hose ID, 1/8 NPTF
