Our side templates are the exact width of the guitar side depicted in the plan. We recommend you profile your sides adding 1/8" to 1/4" width on either side and an inch or two at either end. This extra material can easily be removed later with a plane or when radiusing the sides using a dish. Doing this gives you a little wiggle room when building.
These templates are laser engraved from 1/8" thick clear acrylic (less brittle than extruded acrylic). This template is designed to be used with a mechanical pencil - specifically, the Graphgear 500 - although others might work. The 0.09mm x 4mm Graphgear sleeve is longer than most mechanical pencils. It is made specifically for templates.
