Spanish Cedar heel blank, 1st grade, 12" x 3" x 7/8"

This 12" heel blank is meant to be used to create a multi-piece laminated heel which is affixed to the neck blank.
The traditional choice for classical guitars, Spanish Cedar is also in favor among steel string builders, in fact, many modern Martin necks have been made from it.
First grade necks and heels are straight-grained, quartersawn with a 25° variance off quarter allowed.

Product Description
We take great care to make sure the wood we ship is well dried and ready to use. The sap secretions you may see on your Spanish Cedar neck blanks are normal in Spanish Cedar and are not a concern. Just scrap them from the surface and wait a few days. Sometimes a second scraping in needed. Once the wood is finished, you will no longer see the sap again.
