B/S Sapele, dreadnought
Sapele is a little heavier and a good alternative to Honduran Mahogany but finer textured. It is a fine guitar wood due to its relatively low cost, ease of working, and stability. Bending success is improved if less water is used. Colors range from light pink to medium brown to reddish-brown. The figure on well-quartered pieces is the characteristic stripe resulting from interlocked grain.
The horizontal stripes you see are on these sets are sticker (drying) marks. They will go away when the set is sanded. On the main photo here we have edited the stripes out, but we are including a photo that is unedited so you can see what the set will look like when you get it.
