Top Sinker Redwood, 2A grade, uke concert/tenor

$72.44
$57.95 Save 20%

The dark color tones of a Redwood top are not at all traditional, but the superior musical tone of these soundboards win out over their unconventional appearance. Some are clear color and some have the idiosyncratic streaks and coloration of this species. For this reason, we are offering them in our 'select a set' section so you can choose a top that suits your taste. Variations in price reflect variations in the stiffness of the individual top with stiffer tops costing a bit more.

"Sinker" refers to woods that have spent some time submerged in water. Being underwater allows some mineral content to penetrate the wood. This causes it to be slightly heavier and harder. The process has a strong, beneficial effect on the tap-tone of the wood.
