Port Orford Cedar neck blank, 2nd grade, 24" x 3" x 7/8"
24" neck blanks typically require a heel blank.
Port Orford Cedar has the highest strength to weight ratio of all wood species. It is among the toughest and most elastic of softwoods and due to its fibrous interlocking grain structure it is extremely resistant to splitting and is very dimensionally stable.
Second-grade necks and heels may have one of the following: small knots or pinholes that will not affect the integrity of the neck; they may be off quarter as much as 50% (45ø); the grain may not be perfectly straight; there might be unevenness of color.
