Swartzia fistuloides/Bobgunnia fistuloides

More evenly colored and less variegated than Indian Rosewood, Pau Rosa presents subtle darker bands of color within an overall deep gold-brown background. The pores are minimal, and with an average hardness on par with Cocobolo and West African Ebony, you can expect it to polish out to a smooth luster. Interlocking grain offers stability and durability. These qualities, of course, make it a great candidate for a fingerboard wood especially for those who seek a more exotic alternative to Rosewood or Ebony. Sustainably harvested in Cameroon and is free from any species-specific export concerns.

Quantities of 50 or more fingerboards will be subject to "actual shipping" - you pay what we pay. Quotes available.
