Malaysian Blackwood fingerboard 1/4" thick, 2nd grade, classical/steel string
Malaysian Blackwood is a premium tonewood that is well suited to all sorts of guitars. Denser than most Rosewoods, the sustaining, glassy tap tone compares to African Blackwood. It is slightly less brittle though, and unlike African Blackwood, most boards have attractive dark streaks. The overall coloring is similar to Ziricote, with black and dark gray colors highlighted by subtle reddish-brown and/or green hues.
