Electric Drop Top Imbuia

$85.23

Phoebe porosa

Imbuia, a difficult to source hardwood from Brazil, presents a wide variety of interesting grain patterns. Quilt, burl-like, dark streaks and broad wave-like curl are among the different 'figures' we encounter in Imbuia. Every drop-top is unique, however, the color is very consistent; a pleasing dark brown color with secondary amber and tobacco hues. Small voids are common place with this wood (fill with a combination of epoxy and wood dust), otherwise, it is non-porous and finishes nicely. It's a medium density wood that promises a maple-like effect on the tone of the instrument.
