  • Drill block for Headstock Drilling/Slotting Jig, 1/4" posts (ref: SHSDSJ-DB4)

This drill block is meant to be used with the LMI Headstock Drilling and Slotting Jig. It is designed to be used to drill holes for tuners with 1/4" shafts and where hole bushings are not provided/used. One drill block is included with the jig. A 1/4" (.250") drill bit should be used with this drill block. See the photo below for a further explanation of which drill block/bit to use when drilling for your slot-head tuners.

Note: Most manufacturers of tuners with 1/4" shafts recommend a 1/4" drill bit, but if the shafts actually measure 1/4", this might be a bit tight and require a bit of reaming out.

This item is not meant to be used as a stand-alone drill guide.

Our 1/4" compression bit is the recommended bit to use with this jig. The upcut on the bottom of the bit helps prevent router blowout. In addition, the jig demands a long bit to accommodate the depth of the jig and the peghead and these fill the bill.
