Vacuum is the best way to get a superior joint between your bridge and the top of your guitar. Moisture is removed through the vacuum process which really speeds up dry time.
Our Vacuum Bridge Clamp is designed to provide simple, safe, and effective vacuum clamping. It features a translucent, finish-safe, flexible silicone vacuum membrane which aids in the initial setup and provides the ability to monitor your clamping visually. The custom gasket sandwich is made from an industrial closed cell foam (EPDM) bonded to a thin layer of non-reactive film (PTFE). The frame is CNC machined from Richlite - a rigid 100% recycled paper composite made in the USA!

See Product Warning Below!
Warning - This product was tested extensively on guitars with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish - the instrument was finished before the bridge was applied. We saw no finish flaws after many hours of testing. If you are using this product on unfinished wood –applying the finish after the bridge is affixed– we recommend you place a barrier between the rubber membrane and the top when gluing the bridge. An untreated tissue should do the trick (no lotions or additives).
This tool comes with the vacuum bridge clamp, a yard of 1/4" (1/8" ID) tubing, and a quick-connect socket that plugs into our vacuum source products with a quick turn. If your source doesn't already have a quick-turn plug this one might work for your source, but that depends on the hose size of the source. SPVQTP14.
This clamp needs to be used on a non-porous surface. If you don't have a finish on your instrument, a seal coat of shellac should do the trick if you are having trouble pulling a vacuum.
The PTFE film layer can have some slight wrinkles across the gasket surface. In extensive testing, these wrinkles have never affected the sealing function of the gasket/bridge clamp. The wrinkles are cosmetic.
Enough pressure must be applied to the vacuum clamp frame to compress the gasket sandwich for it to seat/conform to the instrument top to seal. Just laying the clamp on the instrument and turning on the vacuum will not be sufficient to create a proper seal.
