Go-bar deck clamping jig

$212.15

The LMI Go-Bar Deck is built around specially designed clamps mounted on steel rods rather than threaded rods. This slick feature enables you to raise and lower the deck more quickly than with traditional go-bar decks. The clamps are made from reconstituted HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) and should provide years of long life. There are also 4 stop collars included with the GBD which can be used to set the low point on the deck. You can easily lower the deck with the use of these collars by just loosening all 4 clamps and pushing the top of the deck down from the center - no more tedious turning of nuts! To raise the deck, simply loosen two clamps at a time and push up with your thumbs (instructions and photos are included with the GBD).

Go-bar clamping rods sold separately.

When I am Emperor...

This morning, I took delivery of an LMI Go-Bar clamping jig. Early this afternoon, I assembled said jig and began using it mid-afternoon. By 4:30, I determined that when I am Emperor, all luthier's, would-be luthiers, hobbyists and anyone else that likes gluing things together shall be issued aforementioned LMI Go-Bar clamping jig. This thing is really well made, intuitive to use and makes gluing multiple pieces to a guitar top a snap. At the moment, I have fresh glue on 4 top braces that are in the jig. Using a diagonally cut plastic straw, I have cleaned out each side of each joint because there is easy access to the entire glue line. This thing is wizard and should be required optional equipment; until I'm Emperor of course at which time it will be mandatory. (Did I mention, I really like this thing?)
