Temperature controller for heating blankets, 120 volt
LMI's temperature controller is designed to take the guesswork out of using our repair/heating blankets. This controller is designed so that you can set your desired temperature and the controller will bring the blanket to that temperature and maintain it within 2 or 3 degrees.
Blanket Temperature Controller Features:
* Sophisticated controller utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhancements and auto-tuning of parameters for precise control.
* Rugged solid-state design for long life
* 10amp continuous load rating
* High power circuit and controller power circuits separately fused.
2-year warranty parts and labor.
How to create an intelligent closed-loop temperature control system
You will need 3 items to create the system:
- The Temperature Controller (TC120)
- A heating blanket (sold separately)
- A thermocouple (TCTC) - The TCTC thermocouple attaches to the blanket and creates the loop.
Note: The thermocouple (TCTC) is provided with the temperature controller. The temperature controller will not operate without a functioning thermocouple, so you may want to purchase a spare to have on hand.
Our heating blankets are sold separately.
CAUTION: For a long heating/bending blanket service life, we recommend a maximum blanket temperature of 400°F when properly installed and used with our temperature controller. The maximum upper limit of 425°F can cause blanket failure and will terminate your warranty.

This item is designed to work using a 120 volt 60-hertz electric system like that in the USA. This tool will not work on other systems without the use of a voltage converter. International customers, please see our TC220 - 220-volt International unit.
The auto-tuning function of the temperature controller is not a calibration. It does not change the measured temperature. It does affect how the controller responds to temperature change.
Auto-tuning is an automated process to test and record the speed at which the heating blanket assembly changes temperature when blanket power is both applied and removed. Once the test is done, the controller resets its internal values to best respond to a temperature change for the setup. The goal is to reach and maintain the set temperature as quickly as possible while minimizing temperature overshoot.
LMI auto-tunes every temperature controller at 300 degrees Fahrenheit with a custom test rig and a full-sized guitar blanket (SPBL8). The controller is ready to use as delivered. For our bending machine setup, both the smaller waist blanket and the larger main blanket have similar power/heat responses so changing between either does not require a re-tuning.
If you are using a much smaller blanket, like a bridge repair blanket at 1/10 of the wattage of the full-sized blanket, auto-tuning would be advised. To auto-tune your temperature controller, see the instructions that were included with it or view the instructions in the product attachments on the temperature controller page.
