African Blackwood fingerboard 5/16" thick, 1.5 grade, classical/steel string
African Blackwood (a member of the Rosewood family, Dalbergia) has long been recognized by classical guitar builders as the "holy grail" of tonewoods. With a strong responsive tap tone that surpasses even Brazilian Rosewood, it can contribute great volume, power, and brilliance to a guitar.

These fingerboards are slab cut but are still very nice and do not qualify as a second-grade quality. Due to the cut, they exhibit some figure on the face which some people will appreciate. If you are looking for straight-grained, close to quartersawn, choose 1st-grade instead.
