Have us install your backstrip. You must have chosen a backstrip and asked us to join your back in the previous selections. We sandwich the backstrip in between the back plates rather than rout and inlay.

If there is not a choice here it is because we are unable to insert a backstrip. This is typically because you have chosen a 3-piece back.

If you have elected to have us join your back, you may also wish to have us profile it. We will profile your back to the shape you choose leaving approximately 1/4 inch of extra material beyond the outline. This excess material can be removed later, once your box is complete, using a router with a flush trim bit or by other appropriate means. These options are filtered to work with the back and side set you are purchasing.

Product Description

African Blackwood is difficult to work and can be hard to bend, but it is strikingly beautiful and polishes to a high luster. It is very fine-grained, quite stable when dry (more stable than most Ebony), and glues satisfactorily.

Due to the small size of African Blackwood trees, obtaining guitar sets is difficult. Most sets will show some defects within the pattern such as solid pin knots and/or wormholes that can be filled.
