Alaskan Yellow Cedar (Canadian Cypress, Yellow Cedar) is one of the most stable woods in terms of dimensional change due to its low moisture content. It is more immune to cracking than any of the other woods we carry except perhaps Port Orford Cedar - another Cypress-like tonewood. Tonally it is especially well suited for flamenco guitars as its lightweight supports a quick attack and articulate trebles. Cosmetically, the wood is akin to our highest-grade soundboards with tight grain, a clear and light color, and a lustrous, smooth surface.
