Luthiers Mercantile International is known throughout the world for our broad range of tonewoods for solidbody guitars, electric guitars, and electric basses. Makers of handmade guitars rely on LMI for tonewood that is expertly dried, machined and stored. All of our woods are responsibly harvested and imported (which is why you will not find Brazilian Rosewood back and sides or other endangered or illegal species). Our wood choices are inspired by those used on the great iconic instruments, such as the Gibson Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, PRS instruments and other vintage guitar favorites. Accordingly, we specialize in staples like Alder, Swamp Ash, and Honduran Mahogany. If you wish, pair with a flamed Bigleaf Maple or quilted Maple or one of the other exotic top plates we carry.
