Testimonials

“Dear Sir,
A few months ago I placed my first order with you and built my very first guitar. Ovangkol back and sides with sitka top.
I have been a craftsman for a number of years, rebuilding antique pianos, including making new soundboards and bridges, and decided to try my hand at guitars after buying a Taylor 814ce.
The results of my first attempt were surprising, to me and to others. Since I'm a bit "old-school" I built it entirey by hand, no table saw, router, joiner etc. (I did use a driss press!). I have already received requests for custom made guitars, and from a store interested in selling them.
It really helped to find quality supplies, all in one place, so I could start this experiment - which may just turn out to be my next and final career.
Many Thanks.
ps. I have just placed a second order so I can start making a few more......”

We are here to help.

LMI understands that not everyone building a stringed instrument has the skills or tools required for some of the more difficult tasks. We are here to help. We can also assist in helping small manufacturers with repetitive tasks like fingerboard slotting and radiusing. Feel free to call us for quantity discounts on shop services.

You can start with your major components more completely prepared without the drudgery, sweat and sawdust from sanding, or the risk of damage or inaccuracy as in side bending and fingerboard slotting. We take the risks of damage to the raw materials and only deliver to you a perfectly machined part. This range of quality custom services is unique among all of the suppliers of guitar parts.

We can slot any of our fingerboards precisely to any scale – we are the only company offering such a wide choice. We can accurately, and professionally, bend your sides to one of many popular shapes – including cutaways. You can have your tops and backs joined or your rosette inlayed as well as many other shop services.

In addition to the services, we can do custom re-sawing at a rate of $100.00 per hour. Please call for information.
