“Just stumbled upon your website, after beginning a search to start a long-held desire to build an instrument, and all I can say is, "WOW'!!!! What an absolute treasure trove of delights, information, goodies! I look forward to ordering the fruits of a trawl through your extensive, if not mind-blowing array of products! WOW!"
Razor files are super-sharp due to their unique manufacturing process. The teeth are milled, then chemically etched and configured like a chip-breaker which also makes them much less prone to clogging. They cut smoothly like a file, but can be aggressive like a rasp when you bear down on them. The teeth are arranged diagonally with gaps between them which means they take small narrow bites leaving a smoother surface than a typical rasp. They are hard and long-lasting. LMI has added a special touch by adding a Rosewood handle to each file - buy one file or a complete set. These files will rust, so use normal precautions against rust. The files come wrapped in corrosion resistant paper.
"We got to use the new LMI razor files yesterday during the filming of the archtop course. They were great for shaping the F holes. They have an aggressive but smooth cut. I like them a lot and love the handles as well." Robbie O'Brien
