I want to express my deepest gratitude to the team at LMII. When I started making guitars 26 years ago, my first guitar was made from wood that I ordered from the LMI catalog (there was no internet back then). Since then, the team at LMI has been nothing short of excellent! The products and services are second to none. My only regret is that I waited 26 years to say...THANK YOU!
Jeweler's saws are used for cutting mother-of-pearl, abalone, plastics, veneers, brass, aluminum, and so on. These adjustable framed saws allow re-use of broken blades, which can be fairly common when doing extremely intricate scrollwork, and will accommodate blades up to 6" long. The SWF can be adjusted for work in confined areas.
We offer three (3) sizes of piercing saw blades for use with this saw. All blades are 5" long. Use lighter blades for delicate, intricate scroll work and the heavier blades for general scroll work. One dozen blades in each package.
NOTE: When using a jeweler’s saw, 3 teeth of the blade should always be in contact with your material. The finer blade will cut a finer kerf, but will also cut more slowly than a coarser blade. The finer blade will also break faster. You need to make an assessment of the design you’re cutting, the thickness of the material and the thickness of the kerf you desire when choosing a jeweler’s saw blade.
