Bloodwood binding on a Brent McElroy guitar.
Wood binding serves to protect the corners of the instrument as well as seal the end grain of the soundboard and back. Several of our bindings come with a contrasting laminate on one edge to frame in your sides. Do not soak the bindings before bending them, instead mist them or bend them dry. Many of our bindings have matching backstrips (Note: The matching backstrips show when you hover over the product name).
All bindings measure a minimum of 1/4" x .080" x 32" unless otherwise noted. Laminates are made of Maple and are .020" thick. The BI13 was designed for ukuleles, but is long enough to be used as purfling on a guitar.
