“I received my order today and I just wanted to tell you thanks. The wood is exactly what I wanted, absolutely beautiful, the packaging was great and I'm looking forward to buying more from you. I've purchased tonewoods from other vendors and ebay before, but even the best from them doesn't compare to the quality and value of what I bought from you. Thanks again!”
We carry heel blanks in a variety of woods and several configurations: 6" x 4"x 3" rectangular blocks, 6" x 3" x 2" blanks that can be cut in half on the 3 inch face for a heel block laminate (see diagram), and 12" x 3" x 7/8+" blanks which are also meant to be sawn into pieces and then glued together into a laminated or stacked heel. Some feel that a 'stacked' heel is more stable and less prone to cracking than the solid heel.
PLEASE NOTE: Khaya and Sapele are great substitutes for Mahogany. Since Honduran Mahogany can't be shipped out of the country due to CITES regulations, we recommend this option for our international customers.
