Saturday Night Concert with Franco Morone & Tim Thompson - Sponsored by

One of the great names on the international guitar roster, Franco Morone is widely regarded as the "Italian Poet of the Acoustic Guitar". His melodies exert a powerful charm which makes itself felt on the very first hearing and is enhanced by his thoughtful arrangements. What is surprising in his work is the emotional impact of both his original and the traditional tunes the latter being completely refreshed and reborn under his fingers.
Through his teaching and musicological research, Franco has become a reference point for many guitarists, both amateur and professional. He has given workshops in Italy and abroad and regularly performs at prestigious festivals in Europe, the United States and Japan.
Tim Thompson will open the show. He was awarded 1st Place in the 2008 International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition in Winfield, Kansas. In addition to television and movie soundtrack credits, Thompson has produced and played on countless records during his 15 years living in Nashville and has also played for Crystal Gayle and Highway 101 in concert. He has traveled around the country playing concerts and teaching guitar clinics and songwriting workshops. Tim travels with his 15 year old son, Myles, a talented fiddle player who has adopted the practicing ethics of his father. Tim has released six CDs including a new release called "Roadrunner", that features his son, Myles Thompson.
