Since 2002, Florian Vorreiter has been making guitars and various other string instruments.
His instruments are best described as a challenge to both the traditionalist and the modernist, as they utilize modern scientific methods in combination with very traditional guitar making. His education has earned him a Bachelor of Arts in the Making of Plucked Instruments and a Master Craftsman Certificate from the German Chamber of Skilled Crafts.
His work with other luthiers has brought him an array of experience in repairing violins and double basses as well as making gambas, harp guitars, mandolins and electric guitars.
Recently Florian focuses on building new instruments, research, teaching and some repairs. He is currently working on researching historical Spanish guitars from the nineteenth century. This project has been funded by the Manitoba Arts Council.
