Sipo is from the same family of Mahogany-like woods from Africa that includes Sapele. It is one of the most promising Mahogany substitutes for use as a neck wood and for electric blanks and it is already in common use by one of the larger high-end electric guitar makers. Here we offer it for backs and sides. The color is a little richer than most Sapele and it is a bit more porous. These sets also show more dramatic ribbon figure than most common Sapele and feature a lively bees-wing figure also, which is rare in this price range.
