This wood came to our attention during our quest to offer our customers more figured woods in an affordable price bracket. The Makore we stock has a broad, shimmering bees wing figure and ribbony grain lines; a sure fire ”eye catcher”. The color is similar to Mahogany, but it is less porous and a little more dense, imparting a somewhat deeper tone to the guitar. Makore (pronounced mack-KORE-ray) tress are very large and are found throughout the rainforests of Western Africa.
