Lacewood Top Plate

Roupala brasilensis

Lacewood is very similar to Mahogany in weight and color but with very bold cross grain figuring. As can be seen here, there is a strong, regular cross grain patterning quite similar to quilt. This wood works and finishes easily and will provide a unique appearance to a bass or guitar top.
