The B9K and BEK electric kits are not available through the Kit Wizard. They are pre-assembled in our inventory system and substitutions are not allowed.

If you want to make substitutions you may use the parts lists below as a guide to ordering individual items, but buying a kit gives you a sizable discount beyond what you what pay if you bought the components individually.

BEK

For those who want to step beyond cheap, screw together guitar kits and experience guitar building in its entirety, this affordable kit combines several classic, high-quality elements into a great, versatile guitar. This instrument was designed by Robbie O’Brien to go with his has latest DVD, “Build an Electric Guitar”.

The BEK kit features an Alder 3 or 4 piece joined body blank, Rock Maple neck blank, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, 6 all left chrome Gotoh mini tuners, a special 2-3/16" string spacing, non-tremolo one piece bridge and 2 Humbucker pickups –with a coil tap switch (changes from a humbucker to single coil pickup sound). This is an “unserviced” kit which means you have the freedom to change the shape of the Alder body to your design (the plan features Robbie’s take on a Strat-like double cutaway guitar). Same goes with the neck –carve it to fit your hand! Add the paint job of your choice (finish supplies not included) and you have an instrument that is truly custom!

Here at last is an alternative to the myriad kits on the market that offer inferior tonewoods and cheap components! Featuring a solid Mahogany body and a highly figured AAA flamed Bigleaf Maple top plate, with this kit you have all the raw materials needed to create an exquisite instrument similar to many of the high-end models produced by PRS, Gibson, Dean, Ibanez –and many others. The kit contains a chrome Gotoh tunematic bridge with studs, A Rio Grande Texas/BBQ humbucking pickup set in black, Mahogany neck, Ebony headplate and fingerboard and Gotoh enclosed tuning machines. Although the kit comes with Les Paul style accoutrements, it can be modified to several other solid body styles.
