Backstrips

Many of our backstrips are matched to our wood bindings, purflings or rosettes. If that is the case, the matching accessories are referenced in the description of each individual part. See how matched backstrip and bindings are used in combination in the photo at right of a Charles Fox guitar. Also included here are our decorative marquetry backstrips. The BI23B was designed by Alain Cola of Dell ’Arte Instruments and is loosely based on a vintage Washburn design. The three fine line backstrips match the fine multiline purflings. The basswood laminates will match maple wood strips and purflings.

Dimensions: approximately 1/4” wide x 1/8” thick x 26” long (unless otherwise noted), enough for butt joint, too.

IMPORTANT: Never rout for your backstrip before you receive it as dimensions can vary +/- 10%.
