Nomex® is a lightweight honeycomb fiber originally developed by Dupont Chemical for the aviation industry. It is being used by innovative luthiers in the creation of “double tops” (also called ”hollow tops”). We carry two sizes of Nomex. They both have a 1/8” honeycomb and weigh 1.8 pounds per cubic foot.
