We were surprised and delighted when luthier Robert O’Brien, an instructor at Colorado’s Red Rocks Community College, informed us that he had been having his students order our kits and that he was making an instructional DVD based on them. Building from our standard (unserviced) kits, O’Brien thoughtfully chose to use a slide show format creating more than 1400 photos and 3 ˝ hours of audio for each DVD, rather than a video format. This enables him to document every step of the building process on a single, affordable DVD disc. He creates the classical DVD in the schools well equipped shop using common power tools, and he gives suggestions on how most of the operations can be completed with hand tools. The steel string version emphasizes the tools of a smaller shop. Clear, comprehensive and fun to watch, these DVDs are among the very best guitar-building instructions we’ve come across and we are now including them in most of our guitar kits (see below).
The classical DVD (BM61) is included with our B1K, B2K and B3K kits; the steel string DVD (BM62) is included with our B4K, B5K, B4KD, B5KD, B4KOM, and B5KOM kits.
